Results from the last week
Ken Austin was the winner of Thursday’s 12-hole comp. Ken finished with 30 points to take the prize in a countback with Doug Shirley. Ken Uebergang came in 3rd, only one point behind the leaders. Rod Loy won the putting with 18 putts.
Young Harry Edmonds had another good round to take out Saturday’s stableford with 41 points. Two shots behind was Dave Wargent and next, Ted Edmonds with 38 points. Ball winners were Col Flood, Luke Bourke and Gordon Dean, 37, Noel Cross, Steve Kent, Ben Butler and Tony Baldwin, 36, and Adam Paton, Jeremy Budda Deen, Matt Reece and Steve Glover, 35.
Sunday’s medley stableford was won by Rowan Butler with 37 points. Mitch Myler, 36, and Steve Kent, 35, also had good rounds.
John Foulcher had an excellent round to finish with 39 points and take out Tuesday’s veteran competition. Newcomer to vets, Wok Smith, came in 2nd with 38 points. Gordon Dean and Steve Kent, 36 points, have both played good consistent golf lately and were the first of the ball winners. Others to pick up balls were Dick Hudson, 34, and, in a countback, Doug Shirley, 33 points.
The Monthly Medal stroke event was played on Wednesday with 17 players taking part. Jan Frater was the winner with a nett 71, followed by Sandra Williams with 74 nett.
On Friday, Lyn O’Brien won (AGAIN!!) with 37 points and Sandra Williams finished 2nd with 36 pts.
Saturday’s stableford was won by Ange Driscoll with 34 points. Brodie Smith, 33 points, was 2nd in a countback with Sue Urquhart.
Tuesday’s veteran 9-hole comp was taken out by Pat Pickering with 11 points. She was followed by Lyn O’Brien with 9.
The next weeks program is. Wednesday, June 17, the ladies play a 3-ball Irish stableford.
The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.
Friday will be a stableford for the ladies and a 9-hole stableford for the men.
Saturday, June 20, the men will play a the 4-ball Anniversary Cup in conjunction with a single stableford while the women will play a stableford.
Sunday will be a medley stableford.
On Tuesday, the men’s veterans have their 9 am shotgun start while the ladies’ veterans will play their 9-hole comp.
The following Saturday, June 27, will be the Mixed 4-Ball Championship so players should start organizing their partners.
