Two of Inverell Golfs favourite competitions were finalised on Saturday. The qualifying round for the Marquart Jug, a 4-ball matchplay, was played way back in July and elimination matches have been played monthly until the final two pairs were decided mid-November. The Mills plate participants were the pairs eliminated from the Jug in round 1 and was also reduced to the final two pairs two weeks back.

John Foulcher and Troy Craven took out the Jug when they defeated Steve Kent and Gary Hadland two holes up with one hole to play. John and Troy were two up heading down to the bottom nine but Steve and Gary started a good run and were able to take the lead on the 13th hole. John and Troy immediately hit back over the next three holes and claimed the Jug on the 17th.

In the Mills Plate, Scott Moylan and Marcus Muggleton had an easier match when they clinched their win on the 14th with 4 holes to go against Mark Lane and Darrell Hughes.
