Golf Report for the week ending 14/11/2021.

Reminder – Inverell Golf Club AGM is this coming Wednesday November 17 at the Club starting at 6pm.

Two special mentions this week. Old timer, Gordon Dean hit 78 off the stick again on Tuesday. Gordon has managed to score under his age yet again. The other person to get a mention, is a young, Matt Reece. Matt has been named most improved golfer at the Northern Inland Academy of Sport. A ‘Well Done’ to both of you.

Simon Smith, 36 points, was the winner of the men’s veteran comp on Tuesday. He finished 1 ahead of John Tom and Gordon Dean. Dick Hudson and Leon Fox were next with 35 points. Nearest the pins went to Simon Smith, Steve Kent and Dave Ryan while Gordon Dean won the Ron Rampling putting comp again.

The ladies completed their Monthly Medal Winners Playoff on Wednesday. Di Shadlow continued her good form finishing with nett 71, 3 shots ahead of Leonie Davison and Brenda Zabaks. Liz Hobday won the nearest the pin.

Rodney Loy, with 28 points, was the winner of the men’s 12-hole competition on Thursday. Graham Moore and Ken Austin finished 2nd and 3rd with 27. Rodney Loy won the putting and Graham Moore the nearest the pin.

Harley Tickle was the winner of this week’s ‘Dash for Cash’ with 20 points.

Saturday’s Stableford was won by Matt Mikaere with an impressive 42 points in cold windy conditions. Grade winners, A - Tim Moses 37, B – Matt O’Reilly 35, C & D – Harley Tickle 41.  Ball winners went down to 34.

Helen Lockwood, +1, was the best in the ladies’ par event. Sue Urquhart was next with -2.

Only a small field started Sunday’s medley stableford. Aaron Coleman and Jason Pomfrett were best in with 32 points.

Coming up this week.

Monday – the vets ladies play their 9-hole stableford.

Tuesday, the vets men play their 18-hole stableford hitting off at 8:30.

The ladies are playing a 4BBB aggregate stableford Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will see a stableford played by the ladies.

Saturday, November 20 will be a stableford for the ladies while the men will play their Tom Nunan Memorial Four-Ball.

Sunday will be a medley stableford and also the final of the CJW Tree Services shootout. 18 qualifiers and the wildcard, Luke Bourke, will tee off on the 1st at 9:30 with a player dropping out on each of the 18 holes. Qualifiers appear on the Inverell Golf Club facebook page and on the notice board at the clubhouse.
