Golf Report for the week ending 24/10/2021.

Important Notice - The Golf Clubs Annual General Meeting will be held, Wednesday, November 17, at the club House. Those members wishing to stand for the Board need to collect a nomination form from the club and return it by next Wednesday, October 27.

Monday’s veteran’s ladies comp was won by Brenda Zabaks and Lyn O’Brien was runner-up.

Gordon Dean as the winner of the men’s veteran comp on Tuesday with 37 points. Dave Ryan took 2nd spot ahead of Bob Watson in a countback on 36 points. Larry Finney and Dick Hudson, 35 points, were placed 4th and 5th.

Nearest the pin went to Larry Finney, Gordon Dean and John Foulcher. Gordon also won the putting.

The ladies played their 27-hole foursomes Championship on Wednesday. The gross winning team was Liz Hobday and Helen Lockwood with a score of 129. Nett winners were Leigh Hobbs and Lynne Lamrock with 101. The consolation prizes went to the teams of Julie Clark and Brenda Zabaks and Liz Hobday and Helen Lockwood.

Ken Luxford, 29 points, was the winner of the men’s 12-hole competition on Thursday in a 3-way countback with Steve Kent and Ross Tutt. Ross won the putting and Bob Watson the nearest the pin.

Friday’s ladies stableford was won by Di Shadlow with 38 points. Jan Frater was runner-up with 35.

Harley Tickle was the winner of last week’s ‘Dash for Cash’ with 23 points.

Saturday’s men’s stableford was won by Paul Amos with 40 points. Grade winners were David Hawker, 39, Bruce Garrett, 38, and Gavin Skeffington, 40. Placegetters were Adam Paton, 38, Mal Dickson, Jason Pomfrett and Dave Worgan, 37, and Noel Cross, 36.  Nearest the pins went to Steve Glover and Ken Austin.

The ladies par event was won by Helen Lockwood with +3. Wendy Alexander, +2, and Leigh Hobbs, +1, were next best.

Michael Williams finished with 35 points to take out Sunday’s medley stableford. Next best were Aaron Coleman and Chris Drake with 34 points.

Monday – the vets ladies play their 9-hole stableford.

Tuesday, the vets men play their 18-hole stableford hitting off at 9am.

The ladies play the 1st round of their 36-hole 4BBB on Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will see a stableford played by the ladies.

Saturday, October 30, will be a stableford for the men and the women. The men’s will be a CJW Tree Services Shootout round as well.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.
