Golf Report for the week ending 17/10/2021.

Highlight of the week - Luke Bourke, playing off a handicap of 5, finished Sunday’s medley stableford with two eagles. Luke landed his tee shot on the par 4, 8th green and sank a 5m putt for his first eagles and then he landed his 2nd shot on the par 5, 15th and dropped his metre putt to record his 2nd eagle for the day. 

Competitions were washed out Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Wednesday’s ladies played a 3-ball par. The winning team with +12, was Bronwyn Thorley, Pat Pickering and Marilyn Young. Runners up with +9 were Jan frater, Sandra Williams and Helen Edwards. Nearest the pin were Liz Hobday and Jan Frater. The ladies held their AGM after play with Helen Lockwood, Sue Urquhart and Leigh Hobbs remaining President, Secretary and Treasurer. Wendy Alexander is Captain.

Ken Uebergang was the winner of the men’s 12-hole competition on Thursday with 30 points. Ross Tutt, 29, and Max Uebergang, 28, took 2nd and 3rd spots while Col Paton won the putting and Barry Croft the nearest the pin.

Billy Winsor won last week’s ‘Dash for Cash’ with 20 points.

Saturday’s men’s stableford was taken out by Dick Hudson with 40 points. Grade winner were A grade – Rusty Brien, 39, B Grade – Adrian King, 36, C Grade – Ross Tutt, 38, and D Grade James Davis, 36. Ball winners started with, Ian Jeffery, 39, Ben Davis, 38, and continued down to 36.  Nearest the pins went to Allen Bujack and Tristan Irwin.

The ladies stableford was won by Sue Urquhart with an outstanding 43 points. Next nearest was Brenda Zabaks with 38.

The 2nd round of the Marquart Jug and the 1st round of the Mills Plate were completed on Sunday with two matches going to the 20th hole. Mal and Bill Dickson went the 20 holes to win over Ross Chilcott and Brian Ford in the Jug while Mick Tanner and John Foulcher also took 20 holes to finish off Adam Paton and Ted Edmonds in the Plate.

Corey Borthwick, 37 points, won Sundays medley stableford in a 3-way countback with Rowan Butler and Luke Bourke. Next nearest were 7 players with 34 points.

Coming up this week.

Dash for Cash will run daily through to Friday.

Monday – the vets ladies play their 9-hole stableford.

Tuesday, the vets men play their 18-hole stableford hitting off at 9am.

The ladies play their 27-hole Foursomes Championship on Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will see a stableford played by the ladies.

Saturday, October 23, will be a stableford for the men (CJW Tree Services Shootout round) and the ladies will play a par event.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.
