Golf Report for the week ending 5/12/2021.

Another wet week and wash outs for the ladies Monday and Wednesday\

Tuesday’s men’s vets abandoned their comp with rain coming on the radar. 11 players instead hit off in the Dash for Cash with 9 finishing.

Rod Jones was the winner of the men’s 12- hole comp on Thursday with 30 points. Ken Austin and Dave Ryan took 2nd and 3rd spots while Gordon Dean won the putting and Steve Kent the nearest the pin.

Di Shadlow was the winner of Friday’s ladies stableford with 30 points.

The Dash for Cash was won by Steve Kent with 19 points. 2nd place went to Stewart Berryman with 17. The ‘Dash for Cash’ has a prize run down depending on the number of players.

Saturday’s Sutton Insurance Brokers Monthly Mug was won by Ben Swan who finished with an outstanding nett 62. Grade winners were A Grade – Ross Chilcott, 67, B Grade - Dave Ryan, 66, C and D Grade – Ross Tutt, 69. Ball winners were Matt Sutton, Jeremy Budda Deen, John Coote and Steve Kent. Nearest the pins went to Steve Glover and John Coote.

Gold Mug playoff for those that have won a monthly Mug during the last year was won by Rusty Brien

In a small field Sunday’s medley stableford was won by Rowan Butler with 38 points. David Hawker was next best with 36.

Coming up this week

Dash for Cash – running each day except Saturday

Tuesday, the vets men play their 18-hole stableford hitting off at 8:30.

The ladies summer stableford is on Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will see a summer stableford for the ladies.

Saturday will be the Christmas Cup 4-ball v’s par and also the final of the Marquart Jug and Mills Plate. Mal and Bill Dickson will play Larry Finney and Dave Worgan in the Marquart Jug and Jeremy Tickle and Jason Pomfrett will play Mick Tanner and John Foulcher in the Mills Plate.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.

The RSM 2022 Sapphire Cup with prizes to the value of $16500, will be played January 29 and 30 2022. Nomination forms for Saturday’s Forsyths 4BBB stableford and Sunday’s Inverell H Hardware 4BBB stablefords are now available. The Tait Hino 9 hole Da$h for Ca$h will be held on Friday, the day prior to the Cup.
