The Club’s Sapphire Cup sponsored by the RSM was completed yesterday under ideal conditions. 192 players from the New England and North West as well as places such as Gold Coast, Brisbane and Wyong played on each of Saturday and Sunday.
Winners of the 4-ball RSM Sapphire Cup were Tyler Fleming (Gunnedah) and Scott Saunders (Tamworth) with 97 points for the two days. Runners up were locals, Jason and Lachlin Coakes, with 95 points.
Saturday’s Forsyths Accountants results
Scott Saunders (Tamworth) and Tyler Fleming (Gunnedah) combined to take out the Forsyths Accountants Fourball Stableford with 52 points. Locals, Dave McLennan and Andrew Walsh were runners up with 50 points.
Gross winners were Trevor and Tim Murray from Uralla
Sundays Hotondo Homes results
Hotondo Homes Fourball stableford was won by locals, Jason and Lachlin Coakes, with 50 points. Anthony Hyde and Steve Glover, also locals, were runners up.
Gross winners were Michael Osmond and Shane Wilson
Previously on Friday the Tait HINO ‘Dash for Cash’ was won by Tristan Irwin with 20 points. He was followed by Dave Schofield with 19 points.

Results from earlier in the week
Thursday’s 12-hole comp was won by Leon fox with 30 points. He was followed by Col Paton, and Mick Parralla, 29 points, after a two-way countback. Leon Fox won the putting with 16 putts and Ken Austin won the nearest the pin.
Sandra Williams, 36 points, was the winner of Wednesday’s stableford in a 3-way countback with Pat Pickering and Liz Hobday. Brenda Zabaks and Sandy Cook finished with 35 points.
Friday’s stableford was won by Brenda Zabaks with 36 points. Lynne Lamrock, 34 points, was next best.
A medley stableford was played on Tuesday, Australia Day. Ashley Walters was a clear winner with 39 points. Next best were Nick Cummings and Rob Walters with 36 and then Tom Murphy and Graham Moore with 35.
The regular 9-hole ’Dash for Cash’ finished Thursday this week due to the 9-hole Tait HINO Dash for Cash being played Friday. The winner was Hayden Sims. Hayden is a newcomer to golf and has become a regular in Dash for Cash. He finished with 23 points to be well clear of his nearest rival and will no doubt see another dive in his handicap.
