Golf Report for the week ending 18/7/2021.

Note – The course is very wet but the top 9 is open. To help protect the course players are asked to restrict the number of carts by having 2 players per cart. Please stick to the cart tracks, park your cart and walk to your ball. Instead of driving between the 6th and the practice range drive your cart back up through the car park to the 7th.  Your cooperation will be appreciated.

Due to the wet conditions the golf course was closed last weekend. Because of more rain late in the week the only comps played for the last 9 days were the Tuesday vets and ladies stableford on Wednesday.

Gordon Dean was back in form on Tuesday to take out the men’s veteran comp with 38 points. Allen Bujack was runner-up with 36. Simon Smith and Col Paton were the ball winners in a 4-way countback with 33 points.

Nearest the pins were Simon Smith and Dave Ryan while Gordon Dean won the putting.

In the reverse of last week’s results Anne Peters won the ladies vets and Brenda Zabaks was runner up.

Sandra Williams was the best in a good-sized field for Wednesday’s ladies stableford. Sandra finished with 35 points, 2 ahead of Helen Edwards. Next were Trudi Tonkin, 31, and Jan Frater 30.

This week’s program if the course is open.

There is the daily Dash for Cash for men and women.

Tuesday, the vets ladies and men hit off at 9am. The ladies will play their 9-hole comp while the men will play the usual 18-hole stableford.

The ladies will play a 4BBB on Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will see a stableford played by the ladies.

Saturday, July 24, will be a stableford for both the men and women. The men’s comp will be the first qualifying round for the CJW Tree Service Shootout. The shootout is a stableford aggregate played over 12 rounds. The top 18 will then have a shootout. There will be a $20 extra cost to normal comp fees for those choosing to play in this comp and the 18 players to qualify for the shootout will each get money prizes.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.

The Marquart Jug Qualifying round has been postponed until 14th of August.
