Golf Report for the week ending 9/5/2021.
Noel Tomlinson was the Tuesday’s vets winner this week. Noel finished with 37 points, two clear of five players on 35 points. They finished in order Dave Ryan, Larry Finney, Steve Kent, Richard Black and Ross Tutt. Nearest the pins went to Gordon Dean twice and Dave Ryan. Ross Tutt picked up the putting prize with 33 putts.
All vets are reminded that their shotgun starts will now move to 9am.
On Wednesday the 2nd round of the ladies Championship was washed out. The 2nd and 3rd rounds will now be played over the next two Wednesdays.
Thursday’s 12-hole comp was won by Howard Finlen with 28 points. Next were Trevor Kiernan and Herb Cox with 27 points. Col Paton won the putting and Herb cox the nearest the pin.
Sandra Williams was the best of the ladies in Friday’s stableford finishing with 36 points. Trudi Tonkin was next with 35.
This week’s Dash for Cash was won by Matt O’Reilly. Matt finished with 21 points on Thursday. He was back again on Friday but only managed 20 points 2nd the time around.
Liz Hobday was the winner of Saturday’s stableford for the ladies. She finished with 35 points and was followed by Helen Lockwood with 32.
The men played a fourball BAM: split 6’s on Saturday. The winning pair was Gary Hadland and Aaron Coleman with a score of 71. They were followed by Tom Kennedy and John Stansfield, 64, and Marli Gobbert and Dylan Lewis and Matt and Morgan Reece with 62.
Tom Murphy came back into the winner’s circle when he took out Sunday’s medley stableford with 41 points. Arron Baker, 39, and Tom Nelson and Jason Pomfrett, 36, were the next best.

Tuesday, May 11, the vets ladies and men will hit off at 9am.
Wednesday will be the 2nd round of the ladies championships.
The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.
Friday is a stableford for the ladies.
Saturday, May 15, will be par event for the ladies the first round of the men’s championships. The men will play their 2nd round the next day Sunday the 16th.
