Golf Report for the week ending 23/5/2021.

Tuesday’s ladies vets was won by Lorna Smith and Julie McRae was runner-up.
John Henderson continued his good form to take out Tuesday’s vets with 37 points. John Tom ,36 points, and Kevin Campbell, 35. Took 2nd and 3rd spots. Ball winners were Ross Tutt, Bob Watson and Noel Tomlinson.
Nearest the pins were won by Leon Fox, Gordon Dean and Jim Shadlow. John Green won the putting with 19 putts. Noel Tomlinson won the Monthly Mug with a 3-round total of 110 points.
The final round of the ladies Championship was played on Wednesday. Liz Hobday became the Inverell ladies Golf Club Champion for her 21st time when she finished with a 3-round gross score of 252. Sandy Cook was runner up with 259.
The overall nett was won by Di Shadlow with 214.
B Grade winner was Trudi Tonkin. She finished with a gross score of 290.
C Grade winner was Helen Tickle with 93 stableford points.
Thursday’s 12-hole comp was won John Henderson with 31 points. John won the putting last Tuesday and Thursday and this week won Tuesday’s and Thursday’s competitions. Barry Croft and Ken Uebergang took 2nd and 3rd.
Doug Shirley won the putting with 18 putts and Herb Cox won the nearest the pin.
Kerry Nicholson took out the ladies stableford on Friday with 34 points. Helen Lockwood 2nd with 33 and Brenda Zabacks next with 30 points.
This week’s Dash for Cash was won by Steven McIntosh with 20 points. Peter Schofield and Tom Murphy recorded 19’s.
Brenda Zabaks was the winner of the ladies stableford on Saturday in a countback with Wendy Alexander.
Saturday’s stroke was won by Tom Murphy with nett 67. Jeremy Tickle, Peter Wallace and Bob Cook recorded 68’s while Steve Glover finished with 69. Allen Bujack, Ted Edmonds and Dick Hudson filled the next three spots with nett 70’s.
Sunday’s stroke was won by Jeremy Tickle with nett 64. This was 4 shots clear of 2nd placed Dave Schofield and Bob Watson. Dylan Lewis and Anthony Hyde finished with nett 70’s and Phil Fox and John Coote nett 71’s. Ted Edmonds, 72, and Steve McIntosh, 73, were next best.
In the club championships John Coote won A grade to take his 18th Club Championship 4 shots clear of Phil Fox. Each of the other grades was won by 9 or more shots with John Foulcher winning A Reserve, Ted Edmonds B grade, Steve McIntosh C grade and Chris Drake D grade.
The best nett results for each division were Harry Edmonds and Jim Shadlow in A Grade, John Foulcher and Ian Jeffery in A Reserve, Ted Edmonds and Steve Kent in B Grade, Steve McIntosh and Tom Murphy in C Grade and Jeremy Tickle and Chris Drake in D Grade.

Note – the bottom 9 will be closed through the week except for the ladies open 4BBB on Wednesday. This is due to tree falling and dozer work.
The 18th is now back out of play and the 15th will be played twice.
There is the daily Dash for Cash for men and women.
Tuesday, the vets ladies and men hit off at 9am – both on the top 9.
Wednesday will be the ladies open 4BBB tournament.
The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.
Friday is a stableford for the ladies.
Saturday will be a medley 2-person ambrose. It is the Greenkeepers Revenge sponsored by the Tingha Goat Company. There will around $1500 worth of prizes – mostly in a lucky draw.
Sunday will be a medley stableford. This will not start until after 10am. This will allow the greenkeeper time to move the pins from the difficult positions set for Saturday’s Greenkeepers Revenge.
