Golf Report for the week ending 8/2/2021

Men’s Results

Tuesday’s vets was washed out in the morning so 10 members turned up and played Dash for Cash in the afternoon.

Thursday’s 12-hole comp was won by Brian McLennan with 28 points. Max Uebergang and Herb Cox filled 2nd and 3rd spots in a 3-way count back. The putting was won by Steve Kent and Herb cox picked up the nearest the pin.

Dylan Lewis as the winner of Saturday’s stableford with 41 points. Close behind with 40 points was Paul Amos. Larry Finney finished with 38 points and then the 4 ball winners on 36 points were David Hawker, Braden Gainey, Dick Hudson and Rod Jones.

 

Ladies Results

The ladies had a good roll-up for Wednesday’s stableford. Liz Hobday, 35 points, was the winner in a countback with Bronwyn Thorley. Pat Pickering took 3rd spot in a 4-way countback.

Wendy Alexander has been seen out practicing during the week and it has certainly paid off. She finished with 44 points in Friday’s stableford to win 9 points ahead of 2nd placed Brenda Zabaks.

Trudi Tonkin, 35 points, took out the ladies Saturday stableford in a 3-way countback with Helen Lockwood and Brenda Zabaks.

 

Mixed Results

25 players took part in last week’s 9-hole ’Dash for Cash’.  Scores were not the best with 7 players equal on 17 points. Steve Corbett was the winner in a countback.

Sunday’s stableford was won by Anthony Hyde with a brilliant 41 points. David Hawker and Peter Schofield filled 2nd and 3rd with 39 points and Tom Murphy came in next with 38 points.

 

The next weeks program is -

There is the daily Dash for Cash for men and women.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 9th, the vets men will hit off at 8:30. – players interested in playing in the Glen Innes Open vets the following week – Tuesday February 16, should let Dick Hudson know by Tuesday the 9th.

Wednesday, the ladies play a stableford.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday is a stableford for the ladies.

Saturday, February 13, is the Sutton Insurance Brokers Monthly Mug and is also the qualifying round of the Presidents Cup. The ladies will play a stableford.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.

 

The Volkswagen Scramble for men and women – a 4 Person Ambrose will be played Saturday Feb 20. $40 per player includes 6 Callaway golf balls.
