Golf Report for the week ending 30/5/2021.

Tuesday’s ladies’ vets was won again by Lorna Smith. Gillian Black was runner-up.

The veteran men played a 4-ball best ball.  Winners were Gordon Dean and Nick Heagney followed by Jim Shadlow and Steve Kent. Ball winner were the pairs Doug Shirley and John Green and Graham Moore and John Williams.

Nearest the pins were won by Dick Hudson, John Green and Jim Shadlow.

The ladies played their Open 4 Ball Best Ball on Wednesday. There was good roll up of 60 players counting local players and many from across the region. The overall winners were Suzanne Towells & Vicki Reeves from Guyra. Runners up were Kerry Nicholson & Judy Ditton from Inverell while the scratch winners were Liz Hobday & Di Shadlow also from Inverell.

Thursday’s 12-hole comp was won Howard Finlen with 30 points. Kevin Campbell and Leon Fox took the next two spots with scores of 28. Howard Finlen won the putting and Graham Moore the nearest the pin.

Jan Frater and Helen Lockwood were 1st and 2nd in the ladies stableford on Friday. Each finished with 30 points.

This week’s Dash for Cash was won by Jeremy Tickle with 21 points. Ben Myler was next best with 18.

35 pairs turned up for Saturday’s medley 2-person ambrose, the Greenkeepers Revenge sponsored by the Tingha Goat Company. The event was won by the team of John Coote and Harry Edmonds. Luke Bourke and Jai Tasker were close behind as were Scott Moylan and Jason Shaw. There were then 4 pairs equal with scores of 67.

Harry Edmonds continued his good form for the weekend when he took out Sunday’s medley stableford. Harry finished with 38 points, one ahead of Matt Reece. Aaron Coleman was next best with 35.

Tuesday, the vets ladies and men hit off at 9am

The ladies will play a stableford Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will be a stableford for the ladies.

Saturday – the men will play their Sutton Insurance Brokers Monthly Mug while the ladies will play a stroke event.

Sunday is the postponed date for the Breast Cancer Fundraiser Day.
