Golf Report for the week ending 13/6/2021.

Julie McRae was the winner of the ladies Tuesday’s veteran’s competition yet again. Lorna Smith was runner up.

Doug Shirley had a win in the men’s vet’s comp finishing with 37 points. He was followed by three players, Graham Moore, John Green and Noel Tomlinson all on points. Bob Watson and Peter Wallace took 5th and 6th with 35 points.

Nearest the pins were Steve Kent, Simon Smith and Noel Tomlinson while Doug Shirley won the putting.

There was no competition golf played Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. It was a bit cold and wet. 78mls fell on the course in just over a week adding to already wet conditions on the bottom 9.

Steve Kent took out last week’s Dash for Cash with 18 points.


All games over the weekend played the top 9 twice. The bottom is unplayable due to the wet.

Stablefords were the go for the weekend. On Saturday, Morgan Reece, 38 points, was the winner in a countback with Harry Edmonds. John Green finished with 37, Steve Glover, 35 and Graham Moore, 34. They were followed by 4 players with 33 points.

Brenda Zabaks took out the ladies.

Harry Edmonds was back again on Sunday to take out the medley stableford with 37 points. Harry is playing brilliant golf. He is now off a handicap of 4 and regularly appearing in the winners circles. Anthony Hyde, Jason Pomfrett and Rob Walters finished with 35 points. Di Shadlow was the next best in a 3 way countback.

There is the daily Dash for Cash for men and women.

Tuesday, the vets ladies and men hit off at 9am

The ladies will play a 3-ball Irish stableford on Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will be a stableford for the ladies.

Saturday – the men will play the Anniversary Cup 4-ball multiplier in conjunction with a single stableford while the ladies play a stableford.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.
