The men’s trophy presentation for the 2020 season will take place this Saturday, March 6 after playing the Monthly Mug. This will get under way around 6pm for those coming to watch or receive trophies.

The 1st round of the men’s Presidents Cup which was to be played on Saturday has had an extension until next Sunday, March 7.

A general note to all players – please avoid driving carts anywhere near the greens any time – even when not wet.

Men’s Results

Tuesday’s veteran’s comp was won by Simon Smith with 39 points. Simon had a big day taking out the comp, a nearest the pin, the putting and the Monthly Mug with a 2-round total of 71 points. Other place getters were Noel Tomlinson, 36, and Larry Finney, 34. Ball winner were Brian McLennan, John Tom and Graham Moore. Nearest the pins went to Simon Smith, Wok Smith and Steve Kent.

Thursday’s 12-hole comp was won by Darrell Campbell in a countback with Ean Perkins on 31 points. Greg Brabrant was 3rd with 29 points. Brian McLennan won the putting and Greg Brabrant the nearest the pin.

Saturday’s comp was washed out after the bottom 9 was closed before lunch. 16 men had finished before the rain really set in and the best of those was John Austin with 38 points.  Next nearest was Ken Austin with 31.

 

Ladies Results

The ladies Wednesday stableford was won by Liz Hobday with an outstanding 41 points. Gloria Winmill, 37, and Kerry Nicholson, 36, were next best.

Bronwyn Thorley was the winner of Friday’s stableford in a countback with Kerry Nicholson. They were followed by Leigh Hobbs and Pat Pickering.

Only 4 ladies took the wet weather challenge in Saturday’s stableford.  Sue Urquhart’s 29 was the best of the 2 players to finish before the rain took over and the course was closed.

 

Mixed Results

The best score in for last week’s 9-hole ’Dash for Cash’ was Peter Schofield with 21 points. John Henderson had a big comeback and scored what would usually be a comp winning score of 20.

Lachlan Green was the best in for Sunday’s medley stableford with a wonderful score of 42 points. Justin Bushell, 37, and Michael Williams, 36, were next best.

There is the daily Dash for Cash for men and women.

Tomorrow, Tuesday March 2, the vets ladies and men will hit off at 8:30.

Wednesday, the ladies play a stableford.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday is a stableford for the ladies.

Saturday, March 6, is the Sutton Insurance Brokers Monthly Mug for the men and the ladies will play a stableford.

Sunday will be a medley stableford and also the final timeslot to complete the first round of the Presidents Cup for the men.

 

The Emmaville Open is coming up March 7. Information available at the clubhouse for anyone interested.
