Golf Report for the week ending 6/6/2021

In Tuesday’s veteran’s competitions the ladies was won by Julie McRae. Pat Pickering was runner up.

Gordon Dean was back in form to take the men’s comp finishing with 41 points. Bundarra visitor Shaun O’Brien was next best with 40 followed by Leon Fox, 39. Ball winners were Paul Johnson, Simon Smith and Noel Tomlinson.

Nearest the pins were Dave Ryan, Shaun O’Brien and Bob Watson while Graham Moore won the putting.

Sandy Cook was the winner of the ladies stableford on Wednesday. She finished with 38 points, 3 clear of Helen Edwards and Trudi Tonkin.

Thursday’s 12-hole comp was washed out this week and the ladies must have decided it was a bit too cold and miserable to play Friday’s stableford.

This week’s Dash for Cash was won by Matt Reece with an impressive 22 points early in the week.

Anthony Hyde was the winner of the Sutton Insurance Brokers Monthly Mug on Saturday when he finished with a nett 67. Grade winners were A Grade – Ted Edmonds, 72, B Grade – Jason Pomfrett, 68, C Grade – Ben Swan, 71.

Ball winners were Dave Worgan, 71, Ben Watling, Harry Edmonds and Dave Ryan, 72, and Nick Cummings and Ben Davis, 73. Nearest the pins were David Hawker and Ian Jeffery.

Best for a small group of ladies on Saturday was Sue Urquhart.

The Breast Cancer Support Day proved very successful on Sunday.

Tuesday, the vets ladies and men hit off at 9am

The ladies will play a monthly Medal stroke on Wednesday.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will be a stableford for the ladies.

Saturday – the men and the ladies will play a stableford event.

Sunday is the Inverell Open 4-ball, and it is being sponsored by Ted Edmonds Construction.

Monday, public holiday, will be a medley modified stableford.
