Golf Report for the week ending 22/12/2020

Rain during last week led to the Thursday and Friday competitions being abandoned. The conditions made it tough going on Saturday with only 6 of the 63 players recording scores better than their handicaps.

Spare a thought for Benny and Andrew and helpers trying to keep the grass under control in the current conditions. There hard work is much appreciated.

 Ladies Results

Julie Clark was the winner of Wednesday’s stableford with 39 points. Next best was Sandy Cook with 38 and she was followed by Lynne Lamrock with 36 points.

Saturday’s stableford was won by Sandy cook with an impressive 39 points. Next best was Trudi Tonkin with 30 points.


Men’s Results

The 2020 Hamper Day 4-ball was taken out by Anthony Hyde & Bruce Garrett, 47 points, in a countback with Allen Bujack & Steve Corbett. Anthony and Bruce combined brilliantly to take the win. Ian Jeffery & Dave Schofield were next best with 45 points.

A stableford was held in conjunction with the 4-ball. Steve Corbett, 40 points, was the winner in a countback with Dave Schofield. Harry Edmonds and John Foulcher finished with 38 points and Dick Hudson 37 points.


Mixed Results

Anthony Hyde returned on Sunday’s to be the best in the medley stableford with 39 points.

The 9-hole ’Dash for Cash’ event is becoming very popular. The prize money depends on the number of players and there is only one winner. This week’s Dash for Cash was worth $80 to Matt Penberthy who finished with 20 points for the 9 holes.

The next weeks program including the daily Dash for Cash, men and women, which operates daily except Saturday and the non-handicap card draw which runs throughout the week.

Wednesday, December 23, the ladies play a stableford.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday – Christmas Day – Club Closed

Saturday, December 26, is a modified stableford for the men and a stableford for the women.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.

Monday – public holiday - medley stableford

On Tuesday, the men’s veterans the ladies vets are in recess. The men start again January 5.
