The 4-ball mixed Championships was played last Saturday with a field of 22 teams. Kerry Nicholson combined with Dave Ryan to take out the championship with 46 points. Kerry finished with an individual score of 34 and Dave, 41.

Next best in the 4-ball were Geoff Caban & Sue Urquhart, Lorna Smith & Gordon Dean, Ian Jeffery & Brodie Smith and Trudi Tonkin and Bob Albinus all with 43 points.

The scratch event was taken out by the team of Ian Jeffery and Brodie Smith with a winning score of 74.

Ladies Results

Last Wednesday’s golf was Captain versus President trophy and a single stableford. Winner of the stableford with 37 points was Wendy Alexander followed by Helen Lockwood with 35 points. The President's team was victorious with a total score of 221 points compared to the total points scored for the Captain's team which was 202 points.

Only a small field turned out for Friday’ stableford as the ladies saved themselves for Saturday’s mixed 4-ball championships.  Jan Frater was the best in on the day with 27 points.

Saturday’s stableford single stableford was taken out by Trudi Tonkin with 37 points. She was followed by Sue Urquhart, 35, and Kerry Nicholson and Di Shadlow with 34 points.

Tuesday’s Veterans comp was won by Pat Pickering with Gillian Black 2 points behind.

Mens Results

Peter Wallace was the winner of Thursday’s 12-hole comp with 27 points. Max Uebergang came 2nd with 26 points and Wok Smith 3rd in a 4-way countback with 25 points. Darryl Campbell won the putting with 19 putts.

Ian Jeffery, playing off a daily handicap of 10, had a very good round to take out Saturday’s single stableford with 42 points. He won in a countback with Tom Skipper. Tristan Irwin and Dave Ryan finished with 41 points to be the first of the ball winners. They were followed by Kevin Clark and Billy Blyth with 40 points and then Orrick Youll, 39, Andrew Kerr and Luke Bourke, 38. Steve Kent and Ken Austin finished with 37 points and then another 7 players picked up ball prizes after finishing with 36 points.

Tuesday’s veterans had a 4-ball best ball with a draw for partners this week. Teams Leon Fox and Steve Glover and John Tom and Tim Newberry recorded 42 points each to be equal winners. Barry Young and Dave Ryan and Nick Heagney and Don Scali were next best with 40 points. Visitor Don Scali was the individual winner on the day with 36 points.

The next weeks program is. Wednesday, July 1, the ladies play a Keno 2-person ambrose.

The men’s 12-hole comp is on Thursday.

Friday will be a stableford for the ladies and a 9-hole stableford for the men.

Saturday, July 4, the men will play the Sutton Insurance Brokers Monthly Mug while the women will play a stableford.

Sunday will be a medley stableford.

On Tuesday, the men’s veterans have their 9 am shotgun start while the ladies’ veterans will play their 9-hole comp.


There are plenty of important events coming up.

The men’s and women’s Club Championships are fast approaching. The ladies will be playing Wednesday’s July 15, 22 and 29. The men will play theirs over two weekends July 25 and 26 and August 1 and 2.

The qualifying round of the men’s 4-ball Marquart Jug will be held July 18
